Yes, I too had a good day on Saturday 9th.. Spent most of the time at Harmanns Cross, sampling the real ales.
Although im not into Diesels, did get hauled by the Deltic, and the Peak.

the only complaint I have is the ticketing structure. Although Children go at reduced prices, there are no reductions for us Pensioners/ and or Priv Reductions for Retired/Rail Staff; with Day Rovers.. £21..00p is alot of money to fork out?

Yes I am an active volunteer
TOC Priv discounts are very rarely offered at Special Events due to the increased cost of running any special event. Go on a normal operating day though and so long as the railway concerned has signed up, there is normally no problems. A list of all the railways is on the ATOC website.

Phil K, I arrived at Norden Saturday afternoon and got my CAMRA discount without any trouble. Cracking event, good beer and the sun shone as well.

    For what?

Train running from 0850 in the morning, ever 40 min from Swanage, every 20 from Norden, Corfe and Harmans Cross until 1800 (ish) and then two train running upto 2345. Free entry to the Beer Festival, live music, guest locos of which some havnt run in passenger service for well over 20 years, the furthest south a class 26 has ever been (so I am told).....

And the event didnt even have sponsership unlike some galas.....

So how many railways can do better than that.....Not many if any...

So no £21 is not alot of money to fork out......

In fact it was great value for money...
