Yes it was fitted with retention toilet tanks which were full to the brim after the previous days UKR and so passengers told to use the station toilets at Paddington and/or Banbury where possible

    Good old Riviera stock

Just something else to be factored into servicing railtours. Finding TOC's with pump out facilities which are manned and have capacity to deal with a charter over and above their normal traffic and are willing to help.

    Cheers, Neil

    (Apologies for continuing thread drift)
I wasn't told that. What they told me was that only one toilet on each coach had been fitted with a retention tank. Unfortunately the other one in my coach was out of order (possibly tank full, but no-one said that) and the next one down the train that was available had a door that was hard to close and even harder to open.

I suppose because the only alternative would have been to cancel the trip.

A bit silly not to fit retention tanks to all of them as someone else was paying for it

But are they paying for the long term serving and emptying or just the conversion?

Just the conversion but they will both discharge into the same tank

Test run tonight around the London suburbs. All good to go and doesn't she look the part - as seen by the FTR examiner as the safety valves are tested!
