There may be good reasons for this.

I don’t think that comment’s meant to be taken entirely seriously ;):)

I know. The important thing is that 28 is back and knowing the work that's gone into it (as a management committee member) I have every admiration for the work of Leaky Finders and our volunteers at Stewarts Lane. Let's celebrate the return of this engine.

As someone who’s not yet been fortunate to enjoy a Merchant Navy, (yet!) can I just say that I wish you and those that keep 35028 on the road all the best for the future.
As ever I’ll say what I always say about 35028 and that’s ‘You can set the tea by Clan Line’ it really is nice to see it back in action.

I think the expression is "set the clock by..." but either way, it is a "measure twice and act once" group it seems.

Lovely panning. What's the double stripe on the tender of 45407? Looks like lining out...

World’s End Chelsea, that’s a blast from the past!
I used to go to the Lots Road pub 30+ years ago for Sunday lunchtime jazz!

Yes, I used to go to the Worlds End when I finished my night shift at Fulham Police Station.
    Many, many years ago now.
Sorry to add to the thread drift but that’s bought back distant memories.

35028 seems not to have departed SL for Dover on its test run, due out at 1020. Any thoughts anyone? EDIT - just appeared, 21L.

Looks like they are slowly clawing back time after the late start. With no pathing allowances en route, some 'spirited' running might be on the cards.

Looks like good work today, with a significantly late start, it got back to only two minutes down near Dover. She's back... Interestingly, it seems that the line behind the train is now closed owing to a bridge strike, so a very lucky escape for '28 there!

35028 looked and sounded great climbing up towards Bickley Junction this morning. Photos taken whilst standing on tip toes (like a ballerina!) on Blackbrook Bridge, next to where the hobby started for big brother Don and myself.

It had left the Lane late and typically for several minutes either side of when it was scheduled there was no other rail traffic - not the case when it appeared (second photo!).

But it worked out ok in the end. Very rough edits below, just off out to see it on its way back. Then home again to make a donation to MNLPS.
