    Been confirmed on the Railway's Facebook that 2999 is staying on to haul trains with 45690 this weekend.

    Yesterday, I made my first visit to the line for the 'Leander Farewell' event. It was also the first time I'd seen 45690, a loco I've been wanting to see for a long time. I wasn't so bothered about 2999 but was pleasantly surprised by it - what a bark it's got! 45690 performed brilliantly, it's a shame we won't get to see it again for a while.

    Some footage from 45690 'Leander's final day in traffic before overhaul at the Epping Ongar Railway on Sunday, with the loco setting off detonators to mark her farewell on her last departure from Ongar station, with loco owner Chris Beet in the driver's seat.
