Hopefully it can start getting a few miles under the belt which will in turn calm a few nerves and lower temperatures..

Now that 2807 has returned fit for duty after some remedial boiler work at Riley & sons, it should be a steam gala event to remember. I had always hoped that 6880 Betton Grange would visit the GWSR at some stage and the video clip now confirms that hope has become reality! Although Granges were not a rare sight on the "Honeybourne Line" I never saw one and was probably too young in BR steam days to recognise one. Now I have a chance. What an achievement by the Grange Team and Tyseley!

Very impressive gala line up, wish I could make it down but as per usual I have ended up working.

At least I managed to get to the KWVR gala.

You joke but staff at the Middleton Railway in Leeds once arrived one morning to find a BR 350HP shunter (A Class 08 or similar) standing on the unloading road in their car park. Being utterly baffled as to why and how it had got there, they eventually discovered that it was intended for LH group who have offices in Leeds; the confused haulier had decided that Moor Road must be the destination and dropped it accordingly!

Back on topic - has it actually done any sustained running in yet?

Yes, but do we know how much running up and down it did at Tyseley. Do we know how much it will get at the GWSR before next weekend? I would hope quite a lot.

Not a clue, but the running line at Tyseley is very limited. This will be the first opportunity for it to run any distance at circa 25 mph and with any decent load.
