I have visited Bressingham a few times in recent years for their steam gala events, can't recommend enough as they usually have all the railways running plus a lot of road vehicles in attendance.

92203 has arrived there and will be on display at the gala this bank holiday weekend.

Hopefully the NNR is still ok for motive power this summer, with the remaining resident fleet and the three visitors

Thanks for the blog. Buffet car looks great..and so quick...and I can't remember where you? posted a picture of the Met Camm in the works with a valance and somebody noticed it was 1 April but clearly not an april fool as you mention the false jumper cables to recreate a lightweightalike...

I think the red bufferbeam means it isn't this livery https://www.railcar.co.uk/images/3784

The railway is disposing of the turntable it’s had stored at Holt for a number of years

Yes, you spotted my small homage to what I consider the greatest "reverse April fool" in railway preservation, which was RVP's Diesel Brake Tender project announced on April 1st. "Very good April fool" they said and the reaction when it started appearing later on was a delight to see...

The creation of the Met Camm Lightweight set out of a 101 lying around(!) is not as sexy but still a small project that was worth holding the reveal until April 1st for!

Such a proposal should come from the potential users of the turntable, in my view.
A turntable was included in a draft plan for Toddington a few years back, but that has been shelved due to COVID and resulting lack of money.

What would be the point of having a turntable at Toddington? Yes it's the MPD but it's not a terminus.

If you’ve only got one turntable, it hardly matters whether you site it at a terminus or not, since it isn’t going to be part of daily operations in any case.

Even for those lines that have a turntable each end, how many use them as a daily part of oerations to turn locos after every trip? A turntable is a maintenance assset, not an operational one - so if you have one at all, adjacent to your main maintenance facility seems the most logical site.

Same reason every other railway that only has one turntable has it - periodically turning vehicles to even out tyre wear and open up new photo opportunities. If there's only one turntable it doesn't matter whether it's at the end of the line or the middle. If anything siting it at the MPD makes more sense as you can then potentially use a shunter to turn locos while cold without having to use up paths to get them to and from said turntable
