Sorry for being a bit dense, but it says on UKsteam that 60007 is on its way down from Dundee today. It's at Darlington from 16:49 til 17:16, am I right to assume that Darlington means Darlington station? I can't think of anywhere else it would be.
If so I think I'll have a wander down after work.

The headboard was indeed raffled on board with the raffle proceeds, almost £1000, going towards the restoration of Sir Nigel Gresley's grave, the winner was a standard class passenger.

What a wonderful gesture, I take back all I said about the Celts and now agree with Ralph that scousers are the "quickest nickers"! ;-)

According to Uk steam info it will be there but as I don't know Darlington I have no idea where it will be stood. Perhaps one of the members more local to the area will be able to post up something more useful :-k

I would think that it would be put on the up goods loop as there is the NXEC 1350 Glasgow to Kings Cross due thru non-stop about 1655.
The up goods loop is the eastern-most line and is visible from the south end of platform 1.

NRM had fitted 4468 with a 'Coronation' headboard when we saw it on Saturday to mark the event. Great three days, all went pretty much to plan. Best days were Saturday, Sunday and Monday in that order.

Yes pretty disapointing that, we were booked SL but back to FL at Tollerton, but we stayed SL all the way and nothing passed us at all. Clearly we could have gone FL and been in York well before anything even appeared on the horizion but I guess when the path is set...

Also 60007 was turned through the platform at Darlington on Saturday. No idea why, we didn't stop and nothing passed us. Having been bang on time that meant we lost imputus and we then continued to loose a few minutes to Newcastle as a result.

I confirm 71.5mph at the top of Stoke. 455tons tare, just under 500 gross.

Often northbound trains are routed through the platform at Darlington to avoid clashing with southbound trains departing from the other platform, rather than going via the avoider and blocking a departing train. Saying that, some signallers seem to do it for the hell of it at times.

Lots of fantastic shots in this thread - looks like another main line success in 2009 =D>

Out of curiosity - does anybody know where Tornado is currently? UKSteam has it down as running to Grove Park late last night / early this morning along with the empty coaching stock.

    Regards,

    Dan

60163 is currently sat at Hornsey with support coach, visible from passing trains. I believe it will go to turn on Friday morning, like it has done the last couple of times it's been at 34B.

It depends how the Automatic Route Setting has been programmed.
