Rather random pause at Garsdale. Had the signal cleared about 10 mins before, signal went back about 5 before. Train came in, stood for 3, then signal back off again!

Footage of 60007 this morning at Salwick and Helwith Bridge. Got lucky with the rain; after hiding under the umbrella for nearly an hour it finally stopped and brightened up at Helwith Bridge about 10 minutes before it came...

Nice shot Helwith Bridge, reminded me of a shot I took of Mallard in 1988, taken at the same location.
Decided against filming on the line from Blackpool, my favourite filming location at Weeton is now spoilt by the. Masts

Listening at the droplight of coach A to the climb up from Whalley was wonderful, certainly a lot better than the life experiences and politics being discussed loudly across the aisle. They don’t even look out of the window!

    Fellsman 60007 1 NP.jpg

Under threatening skies A4 class No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' makes a fine sight as it approaches Salt Lake Cottages with the northbound 'Fellsman' 1Z71 from Blackpool to Carlisle

After recent rains the beck flows quickly as A4 class No.60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' works the return 'Fellsman' 1Z72 over Artengill Viaduct and back to Blackpool

We were at Wilpshire. Sounded good, but early running cost us a nice sunny shot!

    Has sounded fantastic all day.

6 shots of SNG today. Garsdale was an unexpected departure shot, but was nice all the same. Sounded fantastic all day.

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but from Facebook on the Railways of Cumbria Group page...

'A group of mourners assembled on the bridge at Low Barron Wood this afternoon. They had been to a celebration of of the life of Bridget Boissier in St. Nicholas church , Lazenby. Bridget was the granddaughter of Sir Nigel Gresley. She lived at the house beyond the bridge alongside the S&C and died on August 18th. At 15.40hrs Sir Nigel Gresley’s crème de la crème design A4 locomotive 60007 and bearing his name hove into view. With her characteristic whistle screaming all the way from Armathwaite to Low Barron the footplate crew were giving it their all. A marvellous salute to a lovely lady and a memorable tribute in steel and steam.'
