Anyone NOT attending the Eastleigh open weekend that is looking for a great day out photographing or riding may find the Bluebell railway a good place to visit with 34059 & 9017 running on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th. With 80151 also in steam on Bank holiday Monday 25th.

Thanks for that, will 9017 still be nameless?

Let's hope those silly nameplates are kept off whilst she's still in black, it wouldn't surprise me if someone does put them on just to annoy the enthusiasts. My Dad and I will be on the lineside I'm sure at some point to phot the black Dukedog this w/e as we couldn't manage to get to Llangollen, so fingers crossed for some good weather and no nameplates. I'm confused - the "services for the coming week" section of the Bluebell website show 9017 in action over this weekend and next week along with 34059, but the loco roster, which used to show 9017 on these dates, has been changed to suggest that the O1 is working along with 34059. Which is telling the truth, does anyone know?

Right, Looking at the Special Traffic Notice (which is where the person who uploads the "services for the coming week" section of the Bluebell website data from it has the following.

    Sunday 24 and Monday 25
    SP B (11,1,3,4.47 ex SP) is 34059
    HKA (12, 2, 4 ex SP) is 80151
    Golden Arrow is 9017

65 went out of service last Saturday (on my train!) with a broken spring. I know they were attempting to repair it in time for Sunday gone, but don't know if they did.

The reason why the information would be different is that the loco roster is the longer term plan including factors such as wash outs and exams, the weekly updates take into account changes to train carriage formations and defective locos.

Have a good day, I'm guarding on the Sunday - on two different trains!

Just had a look at the Guard's Roster to see what you are up to. You'll have to be quick, else you'll miss the 12.30 departure. ;-)

Do like the new '50 years of progress' emblem by the way.

Ah yeah.... Have to let the other guard have a lie in as he's doing me a favour!

The new 50 years of progress logo is on a load of stuff in the shop and I hope it will be on the website in the next few months. It's been produced by the Railway's artist who does our other artwork.

I've spent today working on new defect forms and GA emergency notices!!!!

I spent yesterday on the Bluebell and had a great time. 9017 was on the lunchtime dining train and was nameless. Other locos in steam and hauling trains were 80151 and 'Sir Archibald Sinclair'. Fenchurch was inside the shed at Sheffield Park and steam was being raised.

    Regards

I have uploaded a video to YouTube of the Bluebell Railway for last Sunday 24th May. You can find it here
    http://www.youtube.com/user/PenrithBeacon.

It features a nameplate-less 9017, 'Sir Archibald Sinclair', 80151 and 'Fenchurch'. I hope everyone enjoys it!

    Regards
