Well Friday the 13th certainly hit home today, i travelled by train & Tram to the ELR Autumn Diesel Gala
At Manchester Victoria we were told there had been a tram derailed at Cornbrooke, meaning trains were running haphazard, so that was the first problem, next trams all came to a stop, we were at Queens Park, driver informed us there was a problem in the main control centre, that was the second problem, arrived at Bury still in time to get the D345 service, 10 minutes after departure time had passed we were told the class 40 had failed, so that was the 3rd problem, alongside us at Bury was 25279, which should have left on the rear of a service to Heywood, found out that loco had also failed, that was the fourth and final problem of the morning of Friday 13th

Rest of the day went as planned although most services were running about 30 minutes late due to the class 40 failure

Plus the appearance of 56006 making its 1st passenger runs for 3 years so i believe

During a lull in proceedings at the ELR Diesel Gala today i visited the Bury Transport Museum as this would be the first time i had been since LYR 1008 had been installed from the NRM

Other steam locos preset were No1 a Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST in the livery of Bury Corporation Gas Works, Stanier 3 cylinder 2-6-4T 2500, Vesta & Wren, plus all the other road vehicles

My second visit to the ELR Diesel gala on Saturday 14th September, a few casualties from Friday meant that 25279, 40012 Aureol & 50015 Valiant were out of service for the day, though 40012 did appear on the Class 56 service in the afternoon, which meant the double headed 40's and triple headed Type 2 runs did not occur
