46100 comes off at Crewe on the first day. I believe 60007 is working the ECS from Crewe to Holyhead, but I should know for certain over the weekend.

I can't think of any other possible reason for the turning move at Holyhead.

As it was ; and yet not quite ? I'm not sure the wires extended south of Crewe when a Scot could have been seen with carmine and cream stock.
46100 at Stableford this morning with the ecs for the Welsh Dragon tour.
Posting this a question occurred to me :- Have LSG previously operated a multi loco tour like this one ?

Intersting that the Modded BSK Generstor car has gone with the consist as well as a diesel.

If Gresley is hauling the ECS Crewe to Holyhead and turning, does that mean the BSK is providing the power and no diesel at all? Perhaps LSL are turning to unassisted steam…..

Annoying for who? I'm sure the passengers would prefer a buffet to a gen car.

Royal Scot in the rain at Norton Bridge.
The contrast to yesterday morning's ecs working couldn't have been greater, the rains came despite the forecast just being overcast !

The train had arrived 13 minutes early at Stafford (RTT) but was held for two Pendolinos to go ahead on the down fast, the less used line for steam. 46100 is about to pass under the diverted Stoke line, the nearest track being the redundant down slow still in situ 9 years after the new line was opened.

Here's my video of 46100 Royal Scot thundering and clagging through Oxfordshire with The Welsh Dragon. I filmed the engine at Culham and Claydon. I hope you enjoy it.

No, the stock was all maroon when the wires went up, I believe.

Indeed, and I don't imagine the generator car would be placed centrally in the train anyway.
