First clue from Facebook is that the visiting loco was built in 1935.

Not exactly a rich period of locomotive building. Portland Cement 6 at Quainton is what I think it could be OR Mike Little's 1450 if that is completed in time.

 

Bahamas and 45212 were also 1935 machines, though I can't remember either of them going on a low loader at any point in my lifetime (and I imagine that 45212 will be busy anyway)

Did you guess correctly?? The guest locomotive for our upcoming end of season gala is GWR 14xx No 1450, courtesy of the Severn Valley Railway and The Flour Mill. We're looking forward to having this locomotive for its first gala appearance in 5 years, since before its last overhaul!
Not only featuring 1450, our upcoming end of season steam gala on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd November also features 2 home fleet steam locomotives, 2 passenger sets and 1 goods set!

 

Wishing the one guy in the comments on Facebook who claimed it wasn't 1450 a major cope.

 

I wish that the AVR would update their website. There's no mention of a visiting loco, in fact with less than five weeks to go, there's no mention of a gala.

Interesting idea doing a joint ticket offer with the DFR. Great I guess for those coming down from places north.

 

A headache for those coming up from the south though! Engineering works everywhere!
Still, those that can go, I hope 1450 performs amazingly! Have fun riding behind it!

As for Dean Forest.... a bit jealous I won't be able to get there, 4 GWR tanks are my kind of gala.
