The advanced driver experiences go with coaches. They're not widely advertised as I think they mainly are sold to folks who have done a number of the standard courses

I don't believe it's an "advanced" driver experience?

The NVR website page says without coaches, so there must be another reason why it has been pulling coaches today.

The ones advertised online are the standard courses which are running through next week.

As I say, the advanced courses generally aren't advertised online, as by their nature they expect the participants to have some previous experience.

Which raises the question as to who is organising "our popular Driving Experience Courses"? Is it the A1 Trust or the NVR? Not that it matters but I'm just curious as to who is actually selling these "Experiences"

Well, if it wasn't for heritage railways offering to host that engine they'd have nothing to sell, would they? And the amount they've messed the NVR about...

The A1 Trust are either hiring the NVR or the NVR are hiring the A1. Alternatively, it is a mutual split of income. Who knows?

It was the railway. Russell Newman had shared NVR's post to the A1 Facebook page.

Thats what I thought. Post 8366 seemed to indicate otherwise but I didn't realise that it was lifted off the NVR's Facebook page. Hopefully the NVR have got the use of the loco at a discounted rate after all the false starts that they've endured.

Quiet day at work today so at least I've been able to follow 60163 on the Driver Experiences at the NVR on Railcam.

Travelling to Yorkshire today to visit the in-laws with two week old son, we broke our journey at Wansford rather than a motorway services for feeding and lunch, handily timed to allow me to film the 10.25am & 12.25pm departures for Peterborough East and the 11.35am/12.00pm departure fro Yarwell Junction. The railway and trains were very busy, hopefully the event has been a great success for everyone. Photos and a short video...
