Thanks for the link. Prince of Wales will not be in steam for 2025 but should be visually complete.

That looks worth trying to get tickets for. I was too young for the 150th and remember thinking at the time that I hoped to be able to attend the 200th, if I was still around.

Thanks for starting this thread, but I wonder if it would fit better under 'galas and events'?
Maybe an admin can move it? @Sidmouth @Pete Thornhill ?

Excited to see what happens for the anniversary

    26, 27 and 28 September 2025.

A newly renovated replica of Locomotion No. 1, the passenger carriage 'Experiment' and coal wagons will run on sections of the original S&DR line over three days. Spectators will be able to see the train at designated locations and enjoy an accompanying programme of special events organised along the route. We are working with partners Network Rail and LNER on the Anniversary Celebration.

In amongst my fathers old cine films, is footage of the procession for the 150th anniversary, taken at Heighington, i think.
Would love to find a way to transfer that onto Youtube for sharing...

My dad got all his cine film converted to a DVD, but it could easily be put onto a USB. There are plenty of companies out there that would do it for you

I'm sure you've seen this before but just in case… with interviews with the Rev Awdry and David Shepherd into the bargain.

    Just a little anecdote:-

The last time I went to Shildon I had a fall, I tripped over a raised curb, fractured my shoulder, left the place in an ambulance heading for Darlington Hospital. I wasn't impressed by the service I received at the hospital, my shoulder didn't 'knit together' correctly and now, a few years later, arthritis has set in, my shoulder won't work properly and I'm in a lot of pain:Arghh::Arghh::Arghh:. I won't be going to Shildon (even if I could get in;)) :Meh:

I used to do it myself once upon a time - I have a VHS/DVD/HDD combo that can also connect to my laptop via a HDMI to USB 3.0 adaptor.

One day I'll get round to putting our standard 8 film of the event into a digital format.
Lovely videos on YouTube which brings back so many memories.

Here's an update on the programme of events.
Programme - Stockton and Darlington Railway
    It appears that the suggestions of two years ago will not be happening,so as "Class8Mikado" posted;
Cant see myself making the journey for anything ive seen so far, unless the journey itself was an attraction...

    Riiiight....

Out of the 13 events taking place, only three actually involve railways, and the first one is the seventh on the list. And as good as the WOW festival is, I can't see how that is related to SDR200 in any way, shape or form.
