Baddiel and Skinner had something to do with a song "Footbridge coming home" or was it "Footballs coming home"

Let's put it this way, Ben had a display stand for the Darley Dale footbridge project at the 8F launch weekend at Rowsley and there was a lot of interest. He also got some generous donations towards the project.

Alan Taylor has done a promo video:

Excellent, that is where it belongs, and would look superb.

Bit worried about the signal box though!!

Darley box (ex-bamford) was due to go to Rowsley anyway; it does not actually control the crossing.

A very impressive video, can't wait to see it leave MRB and take its place at Darley Dale. It will look absolutely stunning. Will certainly be helping out when it comes to lifting it out of the undergrowth. Only thing is I am now wondering what I am going to clean my paint brushes on. One step section has about 20 different colours of paint on it :)

I had a feeling it would end up there, Way too temping for you Peak rail lot ;-)
It should improve the station look and practicability vastly.

I recently found my Brian Radford book with a picture of the footbridge in position with a Jub passing through, so Hopefully it won't be too far away before we can recreate the scene accurately.

Many years ago, on the 24th August 1960 to be precise, I stood on the Church Crossing footbridge and photographed Royal Scot 46123 on the down "Palatine".
    Heck I'm getting old....
