LMS Brake Van springs...

Before we can do anything else with it, we need to get the LMSR 20T Brake Van at NVR mobile again, and for that we need to replace the springs...

...so does anybody have, or know of, any new (or used but still usable) springs suitable for such a brake van?

 

Looking at that photo, you may as well replace them with a block of wood, for all the good the springs seem to be doing...

I've no knowledge of any spares, but can't you just get them refurbished? I'm sure your loco department will have contacts.

We are slowly "reducing" the Steam Heat Van - it still has springs

@big.stu Now there's a restoration I'm looking forward to... be good to see something with a relationship to the line on a goods. Next to the Medfit, of course!

 

Oooh - that's an interesting possibility - time for some measuring up...

 

Yeah we have them and Tested Springs as options but were just putting feelers out in case anyone had anything suitable.

 

Don't hold your breath - it might be a while yet, but it is on the list
