LE movements, ECS and test runs 2024

It looks like 45407 will be coming off the train at Hellifield this coming Saturday, the 16th, and returning tender first to Carnforth

 

Obviously everyone does what suits them, but if Bournemouth Hospital had not hit the 1 in 365 chance and booked my wife's visit for the day of the Yeovil trip I would have been out. OK they are Mk2's, but the colours are very 1967/68 railtours, so to me even if Mk2's something not seen whilst I have been back into railways in the late 80's

Fingers crossed the A2 makes it through a test run today. Would be lovely to see it on an Xmas service or two.

On a very grey morning SNG heads south through Stafford heading for March and railtour duties the following day.

 

Meanwhile north of Crewe in equally dull conditions at Acton Bridge 60532 returns from Preston with the test run. I do like the short train for the test run.

 

Having been put out onto the fast line at Huntingdon, 4871 races through a very wet St Neots this evening on a late night jaunt to Southall.

5407+ECS for Edinburgh Market today. Not sure if diesel or steam hauled. Recent practice has been to drag the lot over with a diesel.

 

Current plan is for steam to lead
