Looking at the view from above I think that the bridge is not that close to the road.

That crossing has always had very long lead times, certainly longer than Robertsbridge, and the A2100. Does anyone know why that is?

    That is not a problem.
Numerous locations on the Network where this happens. Nearest to me that I have worked on is Connonley near Skipton.
And that situation is a bridge over a stream at a platform end adjacent to a Level Crossing.

I wonder if the delay in longer for southbound trains. I think the barrier is down before the train enters the station so the time that the train is standing at the platform needs to be added to the time the barrier is down. We recently were held up at Robertsbridge since the London bound service was 12 cars and blocked the crossing.

That's certainly the case, although the setup at Robertsbridge is identical, but then I use that road a lot less, so maybe any waits I've had there haven't registered on the impatience scale!

I wonder whether it is because the signal box is at Robertsbridge - not sure how Level Crossings work these days.

Nice to see Andrew Wood multitasking again. He really has been a massive asset to the project.

Good to see progress, once the concrete pour is done and the material has then had time to do off and settle, at least the track bed clearance can then resume, Would I be correct that its likely to be done from Austins bridge towards Salehurst first, with the first level crossing to go in being the one at Junction Rd? then Northbridge Street leaving the big one the A21 till last?

I don't believe the order's been announced. The report makes it clear Austen's bridge is required as soon as possible for access by the construction vehicles needed to recreate the railway formation from there.
The dates road-closures'd be allowed'll also depend on co-ordination with the two highway-authorities involved (the TWAO means they can't refuse the works, but they could refuse specific road-closure dates if conflicting with other works or activities on any of the affected highways).

Too early to say, although I'm sure that everything has already been planned out in military detail. I might hazard a guess that the spans for bridge 25 would be brought in via Junction Road, though, and hence the need to have the deck of Austen's bridge fully set ASAP, but that's only my surmise.

That was my thought - given that the firm working on Bridge 25 is based in Junction Road that would make sence. With regard to the level crossings we will be told when we need to know.

Plus, the track bed would need to be cleared and prepared, and in some places rebuilt and a firm surface created, in order to get the bridge sections brought into place, that would need to be done, before the anything else, drainage improved or completely renewed, so that's a lot of work even before the first sleepers can go down,

It must be incredibly frustrating, trying to complete a job like this with conditions like they have been these last few weeks. How has the Rother been behaving during "Bert"?

Picture have been posted online of flooding to the fields east of the A21 Robertsbridge Bypass - not sure how significant this is.

The latest Tenterden Terrier says K&ESR & RVR joint planning is currently on the basis of the public opening of the extension some time in '28. Lots to do before then :)

Udiam weir is the last on the River Rother before it reaches it's sea lock at Scots Float near Rye.
The weir is next to the former site of Junction Road Halt and is monitored you can see the water level online here: https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/station/1126
