    Do you mean Salterwath?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L31a0_3Z ... annel_page

This is from the combined footage of Neil, Matt and Myself. I was at Salterwath and the first view you get from there is in the far distance 27 to 24 seconds in then at 1.55, on a good clear day you can see the steam when the train is passing where Neil was further down towards Tebay, and although you lose it for a time as it passes Scout Green you soon pick it up again. Park you car before the bridge then walk through an get on the high point on you right.
The farmer sometimes moans but as long as you are on the right of his track you are on open access land. If you go over the wall on the left of the track then that is not open land. You will no doubt get soem photographers behind you but the going away shot can usually be managed by zooming between them. I have in the past asked them to consider that I will still be shooting and requested they keep still. Most are happy to oblige.

I'm going out to Golborne first and then up near Shap, the weather looks good but I intend going for a walk after Shap, perhaps Ingleton falls or somewhere with the family and I'm not sure whether I'll see her on the return.

6233 in steam when I passed soon after 2100 tonight... 6201 sat behind...

Also, between Warrington and Crewe, I saw (bear in mind I was doing 100mph southbound) a charter rake heading North. A mix of Maroon and Blood/Custard maybe... It could however be alcahol talking...

Well after a fantastic day today but must say a rather long one, up and out at 4:15 this morning then only just returned about 15 minutes ago i'm rather pleased with the outcome of today's footage. I did Grange-over-Sands this morning with 5690, she looked and sounded sweet! Then up to Shap summit for 6233 and then down to the Lune Gorge for the return of 6233. A smashing day, i shall upload the footage a bit later on, providing the computer systems are letting me.

Prior on returning on a day trip to the SVR, I managed to get this shot of 6233 & support coach at Crewe while waiting for my train to Chester.

Lack of water pressure at the stand pipe caused the delay. We got a path straight after the pipe came off.

That is not quite correct. We arrived at at around 17:34 and it took some time (maybe 4-5 mins)before water was being put into the tender, after someone had put a container of water treatment into the pipe first.Water pressure here seems to be low.The last two trips to stop at Carnforth southbound, have taken over 50 mins from arrival to departure. After watering finished there were at least three trains that passed. One to Manchester Airport, one northbound, and the final one to Morecambe. So I would say that must have been at least 8 minutes after we were ready before we got going.
Something will have to be done about this as once you loose your path on the West Coast you tend to get bumped further down the line.It needs a water tanker
for the quick delivery. However this may not be possible on a Saturday night,or perhaps its just down to the expense of providing the tanker.
Bill Andrew is very good at keeping shedules and once the road was clear we proceeded at permitted speed until about post 3 reaching Preston in 31mins.We then had to wait under the train shed at Preston blowing off whilst control decided what to do with us.They then put us on the slow to Euxton junction to let a Pendo pass.In saying that Bill then got going and managed to make a signal stop just before Crewe in 56.5 minuates from the Preston stop.
The train finally arrived at Milton Keynes about 15 mins down at around 22:50.A very long day.The schedule south of Crewe being mundane to say the least.
