the composition of the boards is a matter of public record and available on the companies house website . there have been many changes which has produced a strong and more collaborative board both at Holdings and Guarantee level . the opportunity to observe the meetings of all three SVR bodies for each board member is also a very positive step towards one railway and one that is much appreciated

The speed limit at sterns was raised from 5mph to 15mph about 20 years ago before being reduced to 5mph again.
Is the railway more likely to run from Kidderminster - Highley instead of Kidderminster - Hampton Loade until it is repaired?

Is it possible that there could be more landslips that have not been found yet?

I'm sure that the railway maintenance teams would have quickly checked the rest of the line for further slips.
A crystal ball will be necessary to ascertain if, when and where further slippages will occur. <BJ>

Nice to see the SVR get a mention on the local TV news yesterday. I thought it might be about their plight with the recent embankment collapse, but no - it was about the hydrogen 'train' project (Which I believe started in 2021, so not recent news and not much help to the SVR with it's current need for emergency funds). Oh well, any publicity is better than no publicity as the saying goes.

It is recent in the sense that it's only just making its first moves now.

It was on a FreeSat TV channel (I thought it was ITV, but a quick search has found the following BBC clip)

One can hardly complain about NR giving some help, but it is somewhat surprising that they have any manpower to spare from dealing with all the problems on their own infrastructure.

yes and no . becomes a brilliant opportunity for training as well and maybe a different set of causal factors than is normally seen so NR expand their knowledge and experience whilst supporting the SVR

There’s a big training and development opportunity.

On the Bluebell we have some kit that is monitoring a cutting side for slippage (in a known problem area). My understanding is that the kit is experimental stuff from Network Rail that is being trialled before roll out to the big railway. So it is a mutually beneficial arrangement - they get to trial some new kit in real world conditions, and we get monitoring for early onset of problems.

Don't forget the SVR and Network Rail signed up to a formal (mutually beneficial) joint working agreement last year - this is one of those occasions where this could pay dividends.

I wondered if folks might like to see the slip site in 3D lidar, so I've had a bit of a play...

The lidar shows the land surface with the vegetation and structures (such as buildings and bridges) removed.
