Bluebells, English or Spanish varieties should be alright - well in South Devon they like that kind of place. Worth a try I guess.
You could then run a bluebell special when they flower. :)

No way are Spanish bluebells (Hyacinthoides Hispanica) 'all right', they are as much an invasive alien species as the grey squirrel.
Spanish bluebells sadly hybridise with the native plant (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) producing a variation which can out-compete the native.

Must get some of that special weedkiller to treat those before they takeover the site. The land at the top of the cutting is privately owned and there is no access on the south side.

I am reasonably familiar with the general story of the return to Leek, but I had missed the £800,000 sewage pipe... It makes the achievement all the more remarkable!

The Heritage Open Day special of 22nd February captured on the 1/40 on a beautiful spring day with sunshine, warmth, bird song and total positivity! My favourite location, at the moment, to hear steam hard at work.

Not to be outdone, Steam Railway Issue 568 out in the shops on Thurs 27/2/25 has an 8 page spread on the CVR's entry to Leek.
    More publicity for the CVR.

Are there any steam galas/similar enthusiast events planned for this year at all please?

More work on the trees in the Bradnop cutting today. Hot spring sunshine meant it was hot work

The compelling sight and sound of 6046 on the 1/45 climb towards Ipstones, Saturday 22nd March - with a light easterly breeze continuing to capture the sound for five minutes

Just for information - the location is both a public footpath(rarely used) and a farmer-used crossing. The gate was tied back - I chose not to interfere, confident there would be no activity before the train passed.
Had this been part of the national network I'm sure I would have contacted the appropriate authority immediately - whereas the CVR crew will be well aware of what to expect with this particular crossing and I'm sure the railway will liaise with the appropriate farmer.
