She's currently running up and down with carriages.

Steam heat going too, as can be observed; it returned 28 minutes later.

 

If the word of mouth is to be trusted Tornado will be making its way to Carnforth before the ELR, and will run with WCR for its mainline Ops

 

Makes a lot of sense for both parties if true. Where else will the A1 group get its miles? Where else will WCR supplement its air braked fleet? Surely another year of one Black Five plus Tangmere would be very risky.

 

Would this be the same word of mouth that told you recently that WCRC were getting a new exemption from ORR?

Maybe more reliable than the one that told me in early January 2024 they had seen Bodmin moving around the yard at 10A in steam.

 

Nope different one. Not that it matters. This is a forum where information can be shared if it’s felt necessary and this seemed like something worth sharing. Clearly if you don’t wish to believe it you don’t have to comment

 

If it is true, let's just hope that the problems have been sorted out and the loco is reliable, operationally, it makes sense, 10a need more air brake locos, Tornado needs a mainline partner, and to earn money,

Makes much sense. Lets hope the Aberdonian happens this summer. With West Coast operating it the chances are reasonable.

 

Would have thought Northern Belle duties too.
