I’m more than aware of that! It will mean that stock hire for the Aberdonian is now a bit more complicated. I’m just hoping for much more steam in Scotland outside the Jacobite as the rest of Scotland is hugely underrated in terms of scenery and some routes like Edinburgh-Aberdeen/Inverness.

 

That's my thinking. Run it in gently with a diesel providing half the power. Then see how things go. Could be good for GB26 rather than 25

 

People seem to forget that 34028 will also be appearing.

 

And 34007 also, but i don't think we will see that this year, most likily next.

Fair enough, I'll stand corrected. I thought it was primarily an MHR loco though, so was being overhauled for use there?

Yes - I was on the footplate of 34007 going up the CVR branch line to Ipstones when he was the driver one day.

Perhaps that’s a reflection on the openness and communication skills of the current management? Not so many years ago there were monthly reports to the supporters and regular postings on SM and indeed on this very forum ….
