What's happened to the heritage blog, as unless I'm missing something I can't see it on the web link page.

If you Google: Heritage Herald Blogspot, you can find it, updated yesterday.

I've had several people point this out, and it's true - the blog link has disappeared from the plc website.
I have no idea why, there were never any complaints about it, and it has helped to raise quite a few donations.

Two other blogs that I set up for the respective departments are currently not used by that department (Infrastructure, and Construction & Maintenance) yet those two still figure on the website.
    Strange...

I suggest that you bookmark the blog directly, rather than go to the plc website to find it.

Thank you, now have it bookmarked. Surely they should put the link back, or at least contact you to say why removed.

I quite agree. I am waiting to hear who the webmaster is, see what he has to say.

It's reported on the official GWSR Facebook page that Bubble Car W55024 from Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway has arrived and should be in use this weekend.

Ooh, that’s interesting. Is this a permanent or short term move do we know?

Just short term, to cover until our own bubble car is ready later this year.

Thanks for this kind reply. I will need to head GWSR way sooner rather than later then.

Indeed. I found it forming my train when I visited the GWSR yesterday.

A single diesel railcar must be the most economical form of train that a heritage railway can provide - or does a 2-car Pacer hold that accolade?

W55024 is painted in maroon livery - which should please Midland and LMS fans.

Spent a lovely day on the railway this last Wednesday, my very first visit. To say I felt welcome would be an understatement. Particular thanks to Laura, Richard, and Jo Roesen.
I snapped this little vignette on the way back from Broadway, during the lunchtime layover:
    20250409_123921.jpg
    "The steam hissed,
    Someone cleared his throat,
    No-one came and no-one went
    On the bare platform.
    Only the name, Toddington".

    Magical day.

I'm hoping to visit for the first time myself for the Cotswold Festival of Steam (even the 01 from the Bluebell had similar thoughts, as I planning on going even before it's announcement). I've realised it's actually not too difficult or too long to get to from Sussex by train.

The GWSR is in my Top 3 Bucket list heritage lines to visit and it certainly gives off a very warm, friendly feel, so it's something I'm very much looking forward to.

Yes it seems quicker from Haywards Heath than from Weymouth (and far more trains that have a vague chance of actually running).
