I’ll leave it to others better qualified than myself to dissect the figures, but here’s a snapshot of the trend over the last few years ….

The phrase "No ****, Sherlock." comes to mind here.

Who are these ‘anonymous snipers’, are they in the room? Those that have emailed, called or attempted to raise points on their FB (generally intercepted or removed by the admin) are hiding in plain sight surely?

How long did it take one of our number to get a response even when he cancelled his standing order? Perhaps if they had the "moral courage" to return people's calls, it might be easier...

 

Suffice it to say that, reading that comment, any slight thought of adding the trust to my list of donations evaporated.

That's nothing to do with the purpose, or the feedback here or elsewhere, but very simply the fact that a senior figure in an organisation chooses to attack rather than acknowledge gracefully. The same has been true elsewhere, and I've seriously considered withdrawing support in response to that kind of commentary.

 

Yes, there's nothing like an attack wrapped in an apparent apology to induce goodwill is there...?

 

I've noticed that there is an increasing tendency towards that behaviour in modern discourse: also, for some to attack people who apologise for their behaviour rather than accept the apology offered. Most commonly seen amongst the "metropolitan liberal elite" and so-called "educators".

 

I just hope that the implied attitude is not the actual one. It’s a standard I often don’t attain myself, but the best communications start from an acceptance of where the audience are, not an insistence on where they should be.
