Remember Rileys new state of the art workshop is not mainline connected, so any movement to it would have to be a road movement.
In that case, an on-site boiler swap at Carnforth, would make more sense, not that I have any knowledge that is happening.
    It is 1 crane hire.

Doing good communications for a while and then letting it slide (as the A1 Trust certainly has done) is indeed harmful, but in their case never starting would have alienated supporters very soon, so would have been even worse.
Anyway, TCC74 does seem a step in the right direction ‒ and they did send it to me even though I have stopped my donations, possibly because I am also a "Founder" for the P2.

Sheff, I was under the impression that the covenantors were getting the 'monthly' TT's and 'quarterly' TCC's by email, but the website wasn't being updated with them. It's obviously important that the covenantors get them first before they go out public on the website, I just assumed that they hadn't been put onto the website yet.
But it seems from your info that that isn't the case and there just hasn't been any, at all? In which case, that's opened up a lot of info to the non covenantors, me included, so thanks for putting all that together.

Now that IS interesting, as I’m in the same position and haven’t received my email copy this time. I assumed that I’d been ex-communicated (geddit?) and was wondering if I should appeal …..

This all stemmed from a comment by Davies in the recent TCC mag that the Trust was talking to Riley about maintenance, and talking to a long time associate they pointed out that this wasn’t surprising given the existing tie-up between Riley’s and WCRC.

And yet, I say the same, and every time i get picked on, yet I don't see anyone else being subjected to this, so this will be my last posting about Tornado,

"The Communication Cord" - it's published by the A1SLT as a means of communicating with its donors and other interested parties.

This whole discussion of a Tornado/WCR/Ian Riley tie up reminds me of the famous WW1 communique from the front line which reached HQ saying "please send three and fourpence, I'm going to a dance". It sounds to me as if an awful lot of people are getting several different sets of wires crossed here.

In other news, Tornado looks to have successfully completed it's loaded test run today - unassisted and made up 5 minutes between Preston and Lancaster.
Seems she is in pretty good nick after all, or perhaps it's the new coat of paint ;)

Looks better than the Apple in my opinion. Did too much time in Apple. Blue would be nice but we can only hope with that!

IMG_1849.jpeg IMG_5280.jpeg I probably won’t be the only person who’s going to point this out, but dosent the cabside number font and size look completely different?
Would be interesting to know if it’s prototypical although I will give credit it makes the locomotive look somewhat different than the 2 previous occasions it’s carried this colour

If anyone can say who took the first photo please let me know, it was an fb find and can’t find for the life of me who it was for thier photo credit, the second one is mine from the previous ticket

My thinking is the First image is hand painted numbers, the current numbers are the stock transfers which you can still get. Might be proved wrong of course.

The kerning of the numbers on that second photo looks utterly horrid, and that '0' - what the...?!

(spent a lot of time with someone for whom fonts/founts were a passion in my professional past)
