I just wanted to post on here to say what a lovely day we had on the Santa Special today at RSR.

It was our little girls first experience of a live steam engine and she had a ball! Everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout the day, from the chap who welcomed us, to Santa who spent time speaking to her. We had a ride on the miniature railway and to cap it all a photo on the footplate!

I am hoping that steam will become part of her life as it is mine, and she couldn't have had a better first experience!

We cannot thank them enough, I would strongly recommend a visit for young and old!

There seems to be very little about the RSR on the forum.

Here are 21 photos taken on the 17th, concentrating on locos which have recently arrived at Preston including 4979 Wootton Hall. The album begins with five views of an electric railcar built in Preston in 1908 for Norway, where it is now preserved:

Photos of previous visits to the RSR, in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013, are in the British heritage railways I - W section of my website:

I couldn't seem to find a recent thread on the Ribble Steam Railway, or it's recent Spring Gala, so heres a few pictures from their gala a few weeks ago. img_4317.jpg img_4326.jpg img_4337.jpg img_4338.jpg img_4342.jpg img_4346.jpg img_4374.jpg img_4387.jpg img_4390.jpg img_4399.jpg
