    I have added a new collection of photos featuring West Yorkshire Steam in the 1950's & 1960's

    including this photo 45637 Windward Islands at Huddersfield (later involved in the Harrow & Wealdstone accident)

    This first collection features quite a lot of locations Normanton, Low Moor, Shipley, Mirfield, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Greetland, Sowerby Bridge,
    (Leeds and Holbeck shed in a later collection)
    Plus this photo of 51966 with a 6 car 'TransPennine Class 124 dmu at Marsden 23rd April 1962 near Huddersfield and a couple of Peaks near Keighley on the up and down Thames Clyde Express in June 1961

    Wonderful, thank you for sharing . #15, Windward Islands, a fabulous shot, it's Hillhouses, a standing start from there with a Jubilee usually caused the Huddersfield station masonry pointing to suffer, B&O was a class act at a Hillhouses standing start. :Happy:

    Remember Dauntless, Mars too. As a young man still at school in Huddersfield we used go down to watch an early train at Bradley Bar...then had to run like hell uphill to get to class. Sometimes on a Friday we used to get the evening train from Huddersfield to Halifax instead of the bus as a treat. One or two foot plate rides too....but I got caught. I stuck my head out at Greetland once, to be met by my father's cousin who was the station master there... fortunately he never dropped me in it. No school buses in them days...all public transport including Huddersfield trolleys....eco transport of the 1950's....

    lovely memories, thanks, my own memories of Huddersfield were at Paddock in 1966/67 filthy 8F & WD 2-8-0's climbing to Standedge, and one friday night going to the swimming baths and Morning Star came over the viaduct, talk about luck!!
