LE movements, ECS and test runs 2025

Got a green light today Nunney Castle with 2 x 20's for company in Crewe station now

 

Video still of 5029 on the morning test run taken at Chester North Junction during its traversal of the triangle prior to returning to Crewe. This view was chosen to mask the pair of class 20s behind the support coach.

5029 had arrived at Chester c10 mins late. After starting around the triangle it unexpectedly stopped for a few minutes more or less at the point where the rear of the train is in the photo. The crew were seen trackside during this unexpected stop, examining the motion on the firemans's side, before continuing the traversal of the triangle and then returning to Crewe. The afternoon run was cancelled.

RTT shows STPs for further runs on Saturday - the times are pretty much the same as today's.

45596 NYMR to SVR

 

Looks like the test runs today are cancelled

Interesting to note this is being conducted with West Coast, rather than Vintage Trains or Rail Operations Group.

 

Possibly more noticeably, assuming that the process/cost of getting the loco to the SVR is bourne by the hirer, surprise its not LSL considering the relationship they have with the SVR?

 

LSL wouldn’t be able to move it. Their operating case is for Air only and Bahamas has Vac only.

 

How did Mayflower first move to Crewe when LSL bought it off David Buck? It was vac only at that point.

 

Diesel? I’ve no idea tbh. I didn’t pay too much attention.
