Normal fare rates, so £33 for Adult, £22 for child or member, etc.

Without wanting to sound as cheerful as a certain V Meldrew stuck in a traffic jam with Mrs Warboys but…
I did hear over the weekend that pre booked tickets for this one haven’t sold as well as in the past despite the motive power, ok there’s the the stating the obvious regarding full length operations, but I do believe that the date of its holding’s come into question too, possibly something to be considered by those in charge?

There are only 6 engines running and they're all "big" engines. This isn't the SVR's fault, of course. It just may be enough to put some of the people who'd normally travel off going.

It being at Easter is definitely a factor for some, and it cuts both ways. Past two Easter's we have had a family day out. Not this year with gala prices.

railway are very much aware but equally there are reasons why the clash with Easter has remained and we had a conversation on the very subject at the recent board meeting

last weekend was llangollen gala, had you clashed you wouldn't have had 6880 , after easter is Mid Hants . No easy answer sadly . If you went back to the March date you put yourself more at risk of the vagaries of the weather

Indeed - I usually visit for this one but using public transport (or driving) over Easter weekend isn't ideal for me plus family options will take precedence.

Sadly, the clash with Easter means I have to give it a miss. I understand the clash with other events but unfortunately the bank holiday weekend is more of a problem for me personally.

Probably worth noting that the ticket sales are not all doom and gloom as portrayed here. They are at a good level against the budget for this specific event. Comparing to previous events given the circumstances of this one is not in any way useful

As do I… How many folks can say that the first leg of their journey from Bewdley to Cambridge in 2018 behind an S&D 7F was delayed by frozen points?

I don’t think any anyone’s portraying ‘all doom and gloom’ on here, I’ve just heard from a few different sources ticket sales aren’t what they could be, we all know the bloody obvious reason why what one of them is, the second is something that could be mitigated for, as a few have pointed out to on here.
Much as you like to remind us Aitch your on the organising committee, do you not appreciate feedback be that positive or negative?

Absolutely we do take feedback of all kinds. There was absolutely no available movement of this without upsetting our own calendar or clashing with another event. That discussion has been had multiple times and has been done.

The numbers are pretty much what we expected for this event, so they are what they were anticipated to be.

and what would you like those organising the event to do with 24 hours to go before the event ???

we get you don't like the Easter Clash , those involved have tried to explain why

I'm kind of struggling to see what you hope to achieve now

    I'll be there .... will you ?

I'll be there Friday to Sunday. Including somewhat unrelated bonus of possibly having 5029 coming through Kidderminster tomorrow back to Crewe. Very much looking forward to it all.

Yes, that made me chuckle! I guess an SVR gala is always judged on higher standards compared to everyone else.
Unfortunately, losing the top 4 miles (which includes Eardington) will put off some if they are a borderline attendee anyway - however, it is a fantastic line up whichever way you look at it.
Easter was posing an issue for me, but I can now attend Monday - I'm looking forward to it. As a proud EMF shareholder, the dbl headed manors is a must!!
