Spa Valley Railway Cuckoo Line Gala - June 13-15 2025

    Marking 60 years since the closure of the Cuckoo Line that ran between Eridge and Polegate.

    Visiting locomotives confirmed so far:

    Class 33/0 D6566 from the West Somerset Railway (courtesy of Diesel Electric Preservation Group)

    BR Std Class 4MT Tank 80078 from the Mid Norfolk Railway (courtesy of Stewart Robinson). It is expected to be renumbered for the weekend.

    SR U Class 31806 from the Swanage Railway (courtesy of John Bunch)

    Confirmed Home Fleet so far:

    Battle of Britain Class 34053 Sir Keith Park. It will be taking on the identify of 34050 Royal Observer Corps for the weekend.

    Thumper DEMU 1417

    It is also hoped that Wealden Council and Heathfield Parish Council will open Heathfield Tunnel on the former route, for visits during the Weekend, which hasn't been opened to the public for some time.

    The Spa Valley Facebook says 80078 will be running as 80144 on one day only of the gala and will be carrying the identity of another Std 4 Tank over the event.
