Thanks Dan. I have to say, I'm surprised to hear that, not only because there had never been any allusion to such a thing during planning, but also given the almost febrile stance taken by the burghers of Salehurst against the reinstatement. OK. Well. Things have obviously moved on since then.

I do remember that, Harold, now you come to mention it, but it never really got any mention, and just looked like a reinstatement of the original siding.

I suppose you could always pass trains via a siding, so long as you don't mind some propelling moves. OK, it would require someone to write a safety case and get it approved... but this method is used on the Brocken (HSB) so I don't see why not really! It would be a very Col. Stephens-esque solution.

Thanks, good to see. But why not post this in the main Rother Valley Railway thread?

That would seem more sensible - could admin more this over?

You are better off using the report button as @Enterprise kindly did and drew my attention to this as we don’t read every single post and it’s possible we miss such requests.
@Streetert As interesting as these posts are please use the dedicated RVR thread for them (where these posts now reside) rather than creating a new thread. It’s far better to keep all the RVR stuff there for everyone :)
