I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the AGM notice says you have to have a membership card to vote, so if you don't have one, then how are you supposed to vote unless that is the whole point to stop people voting :(:(:(:(:(

The viaduct will be open from 12 midday on Saturday till 6pm and 10 till 4 on the Sunday. Parking is at Growforward under the viaduct with a walk up to Chelfham station. You will be able to walk across the viaduct and continue along the trackbed over Goodleigh Rd bridge which is also owned by NHRRE and then along the section through Budds wood as far as the site of Bridge which is owned by EA.
    https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-...ham-viaduct-and-railway-railway-200-open-day/
NHRRE would like people to register their intension to visit on their Eventbrite page ( no charge attached) so that NHRRE have some idea can be made of the numbers attending.

They always have, and I suspect haven't fully caught up with the different timing of issuing the things. As my money's been taken and I will be travelling through north Devon the preceding weekend, I'll be hand delivering my papers to Woody Bay.

If an AGM is organised efficiently, then those 'on the door' should have access to the Membership list so, with proof of ID, it should be easy enough to gain entry or not).
Anyway, surely they are not going to expect all those voting in the Hall to hold up their cards for checking at each show of hands?

Many thanks for the info, Chris. Really looking forward to this, and maybe getting to meet you on the day. I'll be at Goodleigh in the morning. Yourself?

About 70ft. The Parliamentary plans show a 100 yard viaduct followed by two 25ft span arches over public roads. In other words the railway further east than it was built where the road forks from the one to Stoke Rivers. The somewhat oblique drone along the railway suggests to me that the 'straight bit' of the viaduct is in fact slightly curved. Does anyone have a directly overhead drone view, in case I need to adjust the drawing ?

I have just come back from Wales and I can safely say the best trip I've had was on the Tallylln railway .

No toilet on board and a touch over an hour on the train on wooden seats . Even the missus said it was such an enjoyable ride so unfortunately, I do belive your wrong on that one .

Also can we point out the Welsh highland has toast racks and in the pissing down rain people had thier wet weather gear on and enjoyed the experience.

I'd also be with you on both - but the question is less about what a statistically unrepresentative sample of enthusiasts would choose, so much as the ordinary passenger market. I know that anything NG with wooden seats is off the agenda, permanently, with Mrs 35B after her back grumbled (as did she...) on the South Tynedale.

Now that the Trust accounts are available for 2024 it can be seen that the holding has increased to 38%, and the (rounded) figures suggest that all or nearly all of the 176,000 one pound shares issued by the Blackmoor Co during the year were taken up by the Trust. Which also suggests that the loan repayments by the Blackmoor Company during 2024 are being loaded onto the Trust. Interesting to note there was no repayment of the £25,000 annual instalment to the Trust, having being made early at the end of 2023.
