What a wonderful loco for the line she has been. Will she be missed matt? Always thought a pannier looks right at home on the gwili!

Haulwen has arrived in the paint shop and the Ford diesel emerges after its repaint.

 

Loco update - L150 is use on all dates up to Sunday 29th June and then “Haulwen” debuts fresh from the paint shop on Wednesday 2nd July. Usual caveats apply.

This will be Haulwen’s first public trains since 2016 so a welcome return.

It’s been a while since we had a vintage carriage update so here we go

GWR 216 is starting to have the sapele beading fitted after the long process of making templates. Door locks are being modified to prevent closure of the door in the latch up position (and therefore not closing properly)

TVR220 has emerged from the shed. Still some finishing to do and door locks also away for modification.

Barry 163 has made it into the shed for the first time and will receive a cosmetic overhaul to the exterior while seats etx continue to be made off site.

Another day of celebration as Haulwen returns after 9 years. Huge congratulations to all the team involved.

Haulwen bas now completed 13 days in service without any major faults. L150 is now back in service after washout and will be in use from Sunday (Classic Transport Day) until early September.

work has commenced on the new arrival D2090with fault finding underway in addition to a repaint.

on the carriage front the beading progresses on GWR 216 and Barry 163 is also under cover tor the first time in many years and receiving attention.

This year’s Mk1 project being our TSO 4420 is also mid way through a very comprehensive overhaul at Cranmore.

After a short period out of traffic with a brake issue L150 is now back in service and will be until the end of the main season on 2nd October. A wet day but a busy one. Meanwhile the loco has regained some of its former identity…

 

Looks great matt! Grass is starting to take aswell! Any plans for a station building at abergwili in the near future, Obviously funds permitting? There are quite a few styles which would be appropriate, gwr, carmarthen cardigan, manchester and milford, brunel south wales main line, even stretch to lnwr?

I noticed there is a renewed appeal for TVR 28, where is that up to? And will it being going back into TVR livery?

 

There is a lot of planning going on in the background and we will be making it public in due course. I think the admin on the company page might have got a bit excited, but keep your eyes peeled on the Welsh Railway Trust page this autumn for a detailed updated.
