Unfortunately I can't attend till the Sunday again as I did at the last gala. Is there a reason why the 58 is not running again as I'm going to miss out on it again ?

I'm not a regular diesel gala attendee but I did get to this one on Friday and have to say that the SVR excelled themselves. The sheer number of locomotives running and/or on display was something to behold. Bravo to all those who worked so hard and gave their time.

Totally agree. There has been criticism of the timetable being a bit ambitious and the ensuing late running, but given the shortened line I don't see how else they could have got over 20 locos out!
A fantastic event, right out of the top drawer - once again. The glorious weather helped too.
Trains certainly seemed pretty busy (much more than the steam gala), so hopefully financially good too.
