I’m sure NYMR will have it all in hand and sorted by the end of its boiler certificate. Will DVL be ready by then though ?

Unless things have changed ,I understand 08850 is allowed out to rescue and clear the line ,useful that it’s always at New Bridge (still closer than its previous Pickering base ).

I thought it was a thread to let us all know what was happening on various lines around the country.
Where do you find some "dig" at the NYMR in that post?

I don't believe I did. I thought it was a rather wide generalisation and gave the NYMR's circumstances as an example o why it had particular issues.

Welshpool announced yesterday afternoon that the remaining services on Wednesday and all of Thursday will be diesel hauled. Facebook page says they'll update soon for the weekend's plans, but as there's no reason forecast for at least a week, I would imagine it'll be diesels for the next few days.

It's not only the UK that's suffering, some tours in Germany have been diesel hauled due to the lack of rain over there. The Harz was diesel hauled up to the Brocken for a period too, but they had some torrential downpours that helped.

The Met Office 10 Day forecast suggests the High Pressure will remain until shortly before the Whitsun Bank Holiday. After which, we may experience higher than average rainfall in parts of the country as Low Pressure moves in. So if you planning a steam visit, hold off for a week. If you are planning a diseaseal journey, make the most of it whilst you can.

I'll believe the higher than average rainfall when I see it!

Although there is the main generator of summer rain in England that weekend - a Test cricket match. (v Zimbabwe.) :)

The GCR is also running steam this weekend (78018 & 73156) alongside 37714, a Class 101 DMU and Iris, as part of the Heritage Bus Rally weekend.

Steam will run this weekend at the KWVR.

45596 will double head with D9520 (note, 45596 is facing north)
37075 will take the planned morning diesel turn, swapping for 48305.

Ann and Dora shuttles have been cancelled because of fire risk.

A good level of rain looked to have fallen over Kent and Sussex last night; source (as well as the clouds in the sky) https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/ma...34375],[64.69910544204765,38.18847656250001]]

7 mm rain at home in my rain gauges here in mid Kent overnight.

Of 'my' heritage lines it looks to have fallen on the K&ESR, Bluebell and Spa Valley Railways. With what looked to be some light and patchy rain on the Watercress line.

Raining quite hard at 6.30 this morning in mid Kent (took daughter to station for visit to Comic Con at the ExCel) but cleared up and fine for a visit to Robertsbridge Junction (RVRSA model railway exhibition).

Yesterday's special on the Vale of Rheidol for passengers arriving on the UKRT railtour was planned for steam haulage all the way to Devil's Bridge, with the passengers to be conveyed by road coach to rejoin the railtour at Newtown, and the special presumably returning ECS to Aberystwyth.
Because of the fire risk the special ran only to Capel Bangor and back.
