    The anniversary gala takes place on 7th and 8th June. Everything that can run will be in traffic, along with visiting RHDR locos, Samsung and Winston Churchill. An intensive service will be in action, along with plenty of double heading. Should be a great weekend, and looking forward to see how the Romney locos cope with the hills! More info here:

    Wasn't a RHDR loco tried on the Bure Valley early on and found not powerful enough for the hills?

    I think you're thinking of SRRL 24, formerly of the Fairbourne and now at Cleethorpes. The RHDR Pacifics ran the Bure Valley service for the first year or so it was open whilst the ZBs were under construction.
