Having checked the directions on their website, looking for advice please.
To reach the Embsay & Bolton Abbey steam railway, which bus is more convenient please; Skipton - Embsay or Ilkley - Bolton Abbey?
    Thanks in advance.

From previous experience I'd go to Skipton as its closer to Embsay and Embsay is the centre of their operations. Bus stops at the end of the station approach. At a pinch and in my youth have walked it from Skipton.

I agree with Buckeye regarding Skipton. The bus timetable is below. 10 minute bus ride, but to walk it would take all day for me nowadays!

The North Yorkshire Council website also has the Ilkley bus timetable.

A recent discovery while doing some research into replicating a now impossible rail journey using buses was 'bustimes.org'
Owned and operated by Bus Times Ltd, it appears to cover the entire country (data sources are listed, although I doubt absolutely everything) but lists bus routes, times etc for a searched location. And impressively the map feature tracks the location of buses, presumably where operators have them transponder fitted. Well worth a look.

I would agree it is a very useful website.
