Work on the landslip is to begin next week by the contractors. Along with this good news it’s well worth reminding people that it will be a construction sight and access is prohibited to anyone not involved.

 

Excellent news.

 

Work has properly begun on the slip site today with removal of a fair chunk of material from the bridge

 

Has 7714 been turned recently? When I saw it today it was facing towards Kidderminster, but at the spring gala it was facing the other way.

 

Came off the lorry from Glos Warks facing the other way

 

Its just come back from visiting Bodmin and GWSR galas

 

Just came across this on YT that will probably be of interest to many on here.
Landslip repairs are moving at speed!

Note at the end they are hoping to reopen end of July. Will be a massive achievement if they manage that and can still take advantage of the school holidays.

 

The last weekend of July is the 60th anniversary weekend...

 

A notice has just been issued saying railway will reopen in full on Friday 25th July; and it will be with 60103 Flying Scotsman at the head of the train.

All 9 Scotsman trains sold out within 3 hours of bookings open.

I expect the teak coaches did the trick

 

Just think what could have been achieved with dynamic pricing.
