Having a quick look at the Teifi Valley Railway facebook page, they had enough volunteers tp run in Easter, and will restart July.
In last July they raised some cash to replace some sleepers and start to fill the gap to the old existing line. They are also restoring the Alan George loco but no updates, so expect they will store and restore the shed at some point after the line is fully restored?.

Does anyone have a better picture of the building concerned, please?

Several planning applications for this area of Lampeter, this now an area of developers filling in the gaps between houses and gardens. Part occupied by the Business Park but mostly hidden by dense vegetation and infested by corrugated iron sheds. Impossible to determine which one is meant and the planning application does not show it. A search of Google maps is not helpful either.

There's a few on Archwilio. Enter the Search term: 128839
2 results appear, the one you want is in Lampeter and the site owner has kindly provided a few photos.
It's a crinkly tin shed previously moved from Lampeter railway station. "It was designed and built for Lampeter Railway Station for the purpose of storing and transfering cattle cake from the train to the lorry. The shed would have been on some sort of platform making it level with the train carriage on the one side and the lorry on the other side. The fabric of the shed is all original - the woodwork, flooring and the zinc sheeting covering it all."

The Google maps location is https://maps.app.goo.gl/MJm2HAEH4kDKTwd3A but it's away from the road so you can't see it at all in Streetview and very little detail from the aerial view.

    Thanks Miff

Just seen the photos, and I have to ask, is it worth saving? If you had a plan to recreate a GWR Country Station, then yes, it would be, but what could the Teffi do with such a building? I personally would think it could make a great extension to the workshop

If planning permission depended on the fate of the shed, maybe the Society was paid by the developers. Or maybe the Society paid the owner for it. No financial information whatever has been provided by the Society to the Charity Commission for nearly 3 years.

That’s a decent site for such a modest outfit.

Great news. Strange that Elizabeth Perry didn't mention it

You can call me cynical, but the only change is the opening times which begs the question why it was offline for such a long period in the first place?

Interesting to see a significant reduction in operating days this year, seems only to be operating during the major school holidays.

I doubt I would either if I wasn’t permitted to volunteer there. Doesn’t seem strange to me.

Equally, I’m glad to see it back and wish the railway well.

Having been moved once (that can't be it's original location) I'm pleasantly surprised so much effort is being made to preserve it

Developers seem to be more sensitive with older buildings since the Crooked House pub outcry.
Although this station shed might be low profile with train enthusiasts, good the developers will move it to a new suitable location. (Although will not cost millions like the Crocked pub).
I see the railway will reopen in July, hopefully some progress on the steam locos will be made.

Will the Teifi need Planning Permission to put it back up?

July 1st is the 130th anniversary of the first train into Newcastle Emlyn in 1895. I have marked the occasion by publishing a reprint of the local newspaper account of the day, together with my comments to explain what was going on and why. It is clear that the branch line would not be there unless one of the GWR directors had not owned vast acres of land in the Teifi valley, and there was no great enthusiasm for the project, which took ten years to cover 6 miles and was abandoned twice. I have called the book The Train . let me know if anyone wants a copy for £10.

Whilst I truly hope that everything has been, or is being, sorted out I note that the date referred to above has been and gone, but there is no change to the Companies House website - the proposal to strike off is still paused, as it has been for the last 18 months, and no further filings have been made.

Hopefully all the required documents have been submitted, all is well, and all we're seeing is a delay in Companies House's own processes.

Applications to strike a business off the register are usually published in The Gazette in the first instance.

That notice was published in December 2023, and suspended in January 2024, but unlike all the times before hasn't been discontinued. It would appear that it was suspended following an objection, but there is a limit on the time that that objection can hold up the winding up process (which would seem to be 18 months). No doubt more will become clear in due course. I honestly do hope the railway has got its paperwork in order and can carry on with its restoration.
