From memory, the large Danish tank, 740, and Swedish 4-6-0 no. 101 both featured heavily?;)

Getting back to the present, I hear little mention of the Polish tank these days?

From the Wansford MPD Facebook page update a couple of days ago. It seems to have a few unfortunate, niggling faults that keep it out of traffic. Never anything major, and they always appear to be completely independent of any previous issues - just bad luck!

    Large domes were involved, certainly...

The railcar looks stunning again. Hard to believe it was over a decade since she was last painted. The roof was last done in the 80s during her first NVR stint.

Before that it's Mail by Rail on the 5th and 6th July.

There is still a Steam ban in place for most of the line, but as the intention is to use 4144 on the TPOs (and the Peak in the afternoon) where a close eye can be kept.

I’d join you but the wife’s brother and his wife plan to visit that day and I think I may upset things by not being at home.

What may be of interest to the TPO Group is that there is a ten page article in the current Great Northern News (issue 262) about the GNR and its Travelling Post Offices.

They’d drink it out of gin lager.

I've lost all track of dates and assumed it was next Wednesday, when I'm working so can't make it. Now that I've twigged it's the following week and I'm off, might have to make a trip. Been 5 years since I went for a ride on it.
