According to Joint line (M&GNJRS journal) there are efforts to try and get 4 of the pullmans from the Brighton belle running (95,88,85,87). They would first use a 73 or 33 for motive power but then run on a mile of 3rd rail which HMRI have given to go ahead for. A trust has been formed (5bel trust) so this should be an interesting development

Seven photos of the EMU here. I have assumed the 502 group do not want to disclose its location, though it has of course been seen and reported locally.

Preservation of the 502 was a joint project between the NRM and Steamport Southport, to whom the unit was on loan. Steamport closed in the late '90s leaving the NRM to try to find a new home for it. Until recently, no-one wanted it.

All power to the 502 Group for taking it on!

Thanks for the continued interest in this unit! As you can see from Andrew's fotopic pics, the unit has already had a taste of vandalism, with a couple of windows broken.

We do have some covers (kindly lent to us by the Electric Railway Museum) but we need more members to help with the restoration.

To that end we have arranged a Member's Day on Saturday 4th July, where for the small sum of £10 (i.e. one years subs to the Group) the unit will be available for internal inspection etc.

If you are interested, please go to our website and join!

    Thanks, Duncan
