To be fair, it’s very clearly flagged by the OP as Facebook, and very clearly flagged that it may not work for everyone. So I don’t know what else you expect - if you don’t like Facebook, you don’t have to follow the link.

The tone of your post makes it sound like you’d prefer no-one posted such links, essentially saying “because I don’t want to look on Facebook, no one should be able to do so”.

More to the point would be to complain about people choosing to post videos of general interest to websites that some of us can't or won't visit. I personally don't mind following a link to Facebook, but I give up if it requires me to log in or just doesn't work.

So now it's not the fault of the person sharing the link to Facebook, but the person who posted it on Facebook in the first place!? Staggering!
What about people who choose not to access the internet at all? Should they have to post their clip in DVD format to anyone who wishes to view it?

Facebook has a huge railway community, in fact, that is the only reason I still use Facebook. So why shouldn't they?

The original complaint was against the posting of a link to facebook. I can't see what was wrong with that, given where the video of interest was located. If any blame is deserved it applies to whoever posted the video there. That doesn't mean they were wrong to choose facebook: they can post wherever they like. Depending on their choice, they widen or narrow their potential audience but that is their choice.

I'm not really a fan of FB, but I see nothing wrong with posting links to publicly accessible pages on FB. I wish however, that if people are going post links to 'private' (i.e. members) pages on FB they label the link as such so that NP readers know before clicking the link if it is going to work for them or not.

If you read the OP’s original post, he did exactly that!

Perhaps this thread (along with others I can think of...) should be re-titled as "The Blame Game!"

Should be in the area over the weekend and planning a visit - just wondered if anyone was able to advise on what the motive power is likely to be I see the Timetable should be for Steam/Diesel?

Just been having lunch and listening to CP running round. Sounds a bit slippery out here.
