Has anyone asked if she was available for work elsewhere? They may get a favourable response.

Looking now like there will be more locos than tours at LSL/Saphos/Steam Dreams, especially with DoG fast approaching ready to haul tours, along with Nunney Castle now available, maybe the price increases, and lack of Standard class nowadays has finally come back to bite them?

I think the increase in the price of Premium Diner may be another factor . From £195:00 a couple of years ago to WCRC charging £325:00 and Saphos changing £425:00 for this year's provision the normal market of Senior citizens cannot afford this with other increasing expenses that leave leisure spending an increasing luxury.

Premier Dining is pretty much always full. The luxury end of the market is entirely unaffected by the cost of living crisis. After all, Belmond offer 3 days in Wales for £17k per person and it is fully sold out!

That is the extreme luxury end of the market, which clearly has enough customers to be viable, but it doesn't tell us much about the size of the market for day trips at three or four hundred pounds. Maybe the Premier Dining seats are well filled in the trains that are running, but post #83 was making the point that those trains are fewer than they might be. WCRC are short of locos for the coaches that they are allowed to use, but the various companies in the LSL group do seem now to have rather more locos than they have turns for.
