It's a static lineup of locos at Harbour Station which has been a regular feature of this event. I'm not sure where you got "parade" from but I don't think blood pressures have yet recovered from the last one.

 

Anybody know which locos will be running on the Ffestiniog this Friday? I've tried looking on the F&WHR facebook but they don't seem to have posted a loco roster for this week unfortunately

 

And I'd be interested in what is on the WHR on Friday/Saturday. Would love to ride behind the NG15 if it is out.

Are there any details of the special event at the WHHR on 2nd August?

 

At the moment think the NG15 is just out on Sunday's.

 

The roster was all a bit chaotic this week due to the hot weather. DLG and James Spooner are rostered on Friday. 130 is out on the WHR.

134 being in use depends on the availability of people to induct drivers on it so it isn't out this Sunday but working Monday and Friday instead next week.

 

Thanks for that - I'll have to wait until next time I'm in Wales to catch 134 in action.

On Monday will this be the 11.30 Caernarfon to Beddgelert Explorer? Thanks in advance.

 

We're booked on the Snowdonia Star for my big(gish) birthday on Tuesday. Can anyone advise the booked loco please?

 

Yes that's right. It currently is only used on Gelert Explorers as there is still some infrastructure work to do before it can regularly run to Porthmadog.

Should be 87 on Tuesday.

Palmerston has have a trip over the Tywyn for the weekend...

 

It is a celebration of 45 years of WHHR running trains. So expect a “recreation” of the first train and the current heritage stock behind a steam loco. Frequent train service on the main line and probably steam on the miniature railway. There might even be a visiting steam loco on site.

More specific details will follow shortly.

Today see's 70 years since the Ffestiniog Reopened for Preservation

 

After much procrastination here are some pics from the day - also ended up nipping over to the WHHR where Gelert happened to be in steam, which was a nice bonus

 

Good pics. Gelert - definitely my favourite loco! Sadly I missed Gelert's trip to Beddgelert (that was some years ago now) - but maybe it'll happen again some time.

In further news, Chaloner is visiting Gelert's Farm, with a report from David Fisher that if the air braking systems can be made compatible, it may run some passenger trains there.
Forum readers may remember that Chaloner - and Rishra - spent some time as PW locos on the Traeth Mawr extension - must be almost 20 years ago now.

 

Hopefully it will happen before the end of the current boiler certificate. There are a few jobs the loco department want to do before it happens to ensure it can run reliably.



It last went to Beddgelert December 2012.
