The SVR website front page says of 60103: "Our current tickets are sold out, however we are looking to add more tickets at a later date, including options for dining experiences." So there may still be some hope for those whose fingers weren't fast enough today!

I admit to a slight pang as I'd been interested in the Swinging Sixties event when it was looking like a lower-key thing, but it doesn't appeal to me as much now. But it's impossible to argue with demand like that and the revenue it will bring in for the line, nor in the remarkable achievement in reopening the full line so soon. The money I might have spent on this event will still be going to the SVR in some way shape or form, just at other times. So a genuine and large well done to all who made this happen.

46115 hauling 7 maroon mk.1s today and an LMS coach at the southern end. Looks very good. Train very busy, all good news for the railway.

GWR 14xx on the autotrain, sandwiched between two auto-trailers. <BJ>

It's very interesting about the Radyr signal post going up at Kidderminster due in early September.

The embankment collapse has been repaired and the track re-laid thanks to a monumental effort by all involved.

We're extremely grateful to everyone who has supported the railway and we're looking forward to seeing trains running all 16-miles of line starting this weekend at the Swinging Sixties event (26-27 July).

Congratulations on a swift and efficient repair. Very impressive!

I'll visit as soon as the (presumed) initial rush and crowds die down a little.:)

It was always going to be a risk this summer. Still, let's see what the decision on Thursday is.

Looking forward to seeing the reactions from ticket holders on Friday when there's a class 20 tucked on the inside. Now that's worst case scenario, the best hope is it's stuck on the rear, either way it shouldn't be anywhere near this momentous occasion, regardless of fire risk, which should of abated by now.
