I would not be surprised if there are resignations, over this, for some committee members it might be the moment they decide the damage to their own standing, will be too great for them to take.

It’s one of only three ML registered engines that are are braked but it does have a vacuum ejector for working vac braked trains. I don’t know how that sits with Vintage’s operating licence.

I did at that the other day from elsewhere, but thought it was best not to mention it until some sort of official announcement was forthcoming.

Yes, it's still possible this is just a couple of pranksters having a laugh, trying to see how far they can get a made-up rumour to spread. As far as I'm aware, there has been nothing official from either party.

I wouldn’t expect anything in a hurry from the Trust and we all know how tightly Smithy runs his outfit.
My various sources are both well placed and independent, so I have a high degree of confidence.

I too have heard the same from a couple of well placed people, included an independent as well. So I’m inclined to sit on the side of truth with it.

If anymore proof was needed, next Sunday's Waverley, which was due to be Tornado after its visit to TGG, is now shown on the RTC website to be 45212

Assuming that it is just 45212 for the foreseeable then I casually guess that between July 26 and August 31 it’s programme is something like -

And this is just to fulfill the RYTC work, no WCR tours included,

    Weymouth
    Bristol-Par-Bristol
    Bristol-Carnforth
    Carnforth-Carlisle-Hellifield-York*
    York-Carlisle-York*
    York-Southall
    Southall-London-Canterbury-London-Southall
    Southall-London-Minehead-London-Southall
    Southall-London-Weymouth-London-Southall
    Southall-London-Exeter-London-Southall
    Southall-York**
    York-Carlisle-York**
    York-Southall***
    Southall-London-Worcester-London-Southall***
    Southall-Bristol
    Bristol-Par-Bristol

*CME so could go to Preston and then the Waverley start from Hellfield the day after
**ACE to Exeter, followed by Waverley next day
***Assumes CME Would be cancelled for Worcester job to run

Then WCR have 2 x Dalesman (1 of each), 1 Pendle and 2 x Scarborough Spa to find motive power for in the same month.

expect to see a lot of those, either cancelled, or turned over to deisel haulage. 34028, isnt yet passed, and i don't know if 35028 is available to do any of those but if it were it would be the southern ones. so it does not stray to far from its home base.

RYTC's website currently lists 35028 for the Worcester trip, which in theory ought to free up the Black 5 for the CME.

    Why would LSL want it?

The only thing I can think of is that it has ETCS, which could open up new routes for LSL.

Understand that East Lancs have still had absolutely no contact or response from A1 Trust, since the Colonel promised rather a lot after it missed its long booked appearance there at 'Legends of Steam 2' in March at rather short notice to go to Carnforth.

It’s a 75mph, recently repainted, dual braked (as you pointed out) 8P, probably with some decent boiler certificate left?

What’s not to like – you’d have to be a... to pass that one up!
