82045 The way ahead?

    In the last few years of steam, some 82xxxs were based at Nine Elms. I suspect that is the reason for the lamp irons. Someone better informed may well correct me!

    The lamp irons on the front platform and the top of the smokebox door on 82045 are to the design fitted to Standards allocated to the Southern Region. So, if you are doing a job, you do it all correctly.

    All she wants is an SR shedplate to go with those SR lamp irons! If she were to be fitted with WR lamp irons at some point, I'd gladly let her carry my replica 82E shedplate :).
