I was standing on the bank above you waiting for the (delayed) flypast as you were being very noisy ;-)

I did feel sorry for you, but I'm not sure the visitors understood!

I got a good view of the two war planes from Rookwood lane yesterday. Just a shame that they didn't spend long flying over Ropley.

Yes you can, A4 Chime Whistle. Simply stunning! And I'm a Southern Man!

Glad everyone had a wonderful time over the weekend. We had a great turn out, especially given the proximity to the D Day commemorations in France. A fantastic turnout from the Veterans. Hats off, they have a busier schedule than most of us! And the silence at Ropley during the RAF display, that was something special. The weather certainly played its part too.

Looking forward to doing it all again next year.

Thanks to all involved for an excellent event. It was the first time I had been for a number of years and I am already looking forward to next years event. The Flying display was excellent on Saturday and was quite special as Tim said above. I even managed to film 34007 departing as the Hurricane flew above her in the same direction.
Well done MHR for providing a great day out=D> =D>

    That's me \:D/

I was blowing off though so you can't have been there on the sunday otherwise it wouldn't have been silent... I dislike delays but it was good to see the display!!

hey mitch, i felt sorry for you, a spamcan is unbearable on a hot day 8-[ i can still remember having to hang out of the firemans window running down the bank to try to cool down a bit knowing well that you had it all to do again, in the summer i used to pray for 506 if it was going to be hot and dry, not much fun though tender first when the heavens opened though
how about painting thomas black and putting southern on the side tanks next time

Talking about hot, with that small enclosed cab I'd say that the western tank is as hot as a bulleid just takes less shovelling than a bulleid.

I was in Ropley Box on Sunday and I did witness you 'blowing off'. But if I recall, you did manage to keep it quiet for a bit ;-)

talking about some being scare of shovelling, i can remember a certain fireman(now driver) who did not know the meaning of , its ok we are over the top you can stop now then used to have both up going down the bank
but an unrebuilt always seemed hotter than a rebuilt, or was it that i didnt need to shovel so much, talking about 506, i can vividly remember leaving ropley LE going to Alton in bright sunlight , getting to Medstead with hailstones then arriving at and leaving Alton in a snow storm, and that day we didnt have the storm sheet #-o it was fun , and yet when we arrived back at Alresford, it was bright sunny skys
