Don’t forget Tom, we’ll also need another company setup to manage these people and separate them from the 47 other L&B companies!

The LBBC accounts to 31.12.2024 have now been filed on the Companies House website for viewing or downloading. No changes from those issued to shareholders, but now with an unqualified audit report. Note on the 'Statement of Changes in Equity', £176,000 shares were issued during the year, mostly, it appears from the Trust accounts, to have been to the Trust. Also Note 12 - a schedule of Loans - which confirms that £160,000 was repaid to the private lender during 2024, and that another £185,000 is repayable by 31.12.2025. This is £160,000 due to the private lender and £25,000 to the Trust. There was £116,000 in the bank at 31.12.2024. The remaining £89,000 lent by the private lender is due to be repaid by the end of 2026 along with the annual repayment of £25,000 due to the Trust.

Absolutely lovely to see this footage in far higher quality than I've ever seen it previously.

Edit: slightly unfortunate that embedded playback on 3rd party websites appears to be disabled, so no thumbnail! But clicking the (lack of) image works as expected...

There's James Dow's attempt already on Youtube, somewhat larger format and without the sprocket holes.

James' (Andrew's) was the same original format - just cropped top and bottom to change the aspect ratio for YouTube. Modern AI techniques could no doubt also enable full image stabilisation, realistic speed, full colour, and stereo sound too! That would be something to screen at Lynton Cinema!

When I watched it I did think that image stabilisation would be worthwhile. Speed might be worth adjusting, though the original rate of frames per second may not be certain.

Looks very impressive. Having the stone "laid" in the baskets makes a huge visual difference.

Does anyone know if that 'urbex'/trespass/whatever you'd like to call it video of the former private 2 foot line near Bratton Fleming is still on Youtube? Diligent Googling has failed to turn it up.

I came across some pix on FB recently that were clearly taken from *inside* a tunnel on a 'live' NR line. When challenged by someone about this, one poster said that it was being done as part of a local history group 'exploration' (or some such words) and therefore not trespass as they had not caused any trouble !!!!!

There were a lot of videos posted on youtube some years ago of the former RVR trackbed - this was before the TWAO public Inquiry - the author had clearly tresspassed on one of the objectors land to obtain these images. The railway took steps to distance itself from these videos.

Any whispers yet of when we might expect the results of the poll on future directions?

The last I heard was that they have been overwhelmed by the response, and it is going to take longer than planned to get through them all. That said, the quick answer is to publish the results in the next available magazine, but since this is now going to be part of the ongoing discussions being held between the Trust and the CIC, don't expect a quick answer or any action for that matter, this side of Christmas.

My feeling is that this has opened up a huge discussion at the Trust board level, and it is going to take time to work out a long-term plan. I am sure it is also going to affect the next AGM, and anyone willing to stand or resign for either the Trust or the CIC.

One thing is for sure: it has opened up a huge debate with some of the members that I know, but we do need to make sure we choose the right future path for the L&BR.

They can’t possibly expect members to wait for more than a week or so for the results. Talk of waiting till the end of the year is preposterous! Clearly, what the action is to be will need time but the results of the vote must be made public asap!
